Fees

I work with a wide range of clients with varied privileges and access to wealth and resources. I have dedicated spots in my schedule for those who use insurance, who pay on a  sliding scale, and who pay my full fee. This allows me to offer accessible therapy while also ensuring the sustainability of my practice and appropriately valuing my time and professional abilities.

Please keep in mind that my slots for clients who are insured and those who need sliding-scale fees are limited and on a first-come, first-served basis. There may or may not be times available when you inquire.

Insurance

I am in-network with Aetna, Optum/United, and Empire BCBS through Alma, provided you are using NY-based insurance and are a NY state resident.

I am also an out-of-network provider. My services may be covered in full or in part by your health insurance once your deductible is met. I am happy to provide billing invoices that you can submit to your insurance for reimbursement.

To verify your insurance coverage, please call your insurance provider and ask the following questions:

  • What are my outpatient mental health benefits?

  • What is my co-pay and/or co-insurance?

  • What is my deductible?

  • Do I have out-of-network benefits?

If you do have out-of-network benefits:

  • What is my out-of-network deductible and has it been met?

  • How many sessions per year does my plan cover?

  • What is the coverage amount per therapy session for out-of-network providers?

    • CPT codes I typically use: 90834 (45-52 minute session); 90837 (53-60 minute session)

  • Do I need a referral from my primary care physician?

Sliding scale

I dedicate a portion of my schedule for clients who utilize a sliding scale. A sliding scale fee is determined by income and financial circumstances that impact one’s ability to pay. The scale is based on availability and financial need.

The sliding scale is designed to help those who do not have insurance coverage or have a high insurance deductible, and earn less than $120K annual income.

In order to be eligible for the sliding scale, you must provide your income (after other expenses are taken into account), an explanation of why you cannot pay the full fee, and the maximum amount you can afford in relation to my fee. In most cases sliding scale is offered on an honor system; however, I may ask for you to verify your income (ex: with a paystub or financial statement). After you share more about your situation, I will let you know what I’m able to sustainably offer.

Once a sliding scale fee is agreed upon, it becomes the regular session fee unless your financial circumstances change and/or there is a fee increase.

Payment Methods

I accept payment in the form of check, HSA/FSA, and debit/credit card. Payment is due prior to the beginning of each session.

Cancellation Policy

If you do not show up for your scheduled therapy appointment, and you have not notified me at least 24 hours in advance, you will be required to pay a full session fee. Insurance does not cover late cancellation or missed session fees.
